Welcome to Finch Communications' first blog post! I'm so excited to start this blog as a place to seek resources and inspiration.
First, I'd like to start by introducing myself...
Hi, I'm Kacey Finch, the face behind Finch Communications! I'm originally from Ormond Beach, Florida, and currently live in Gainesville, Florida, where I work full time as a communications specialist for the UF Health Cancer Center. In June, I'll be moving to Dallas, Texas!
I've always been creative. I knew I wanted to be a writer when I was 8 years old (I even have an old journal entry from third grade that can prove it!). That passion for writing never fizzled, and I pursued a major in journalism at the University of Florida.
When I graduated college in December 2019, I was most excited to never have homework again. I could just come home from work and do whatever I please. Don’t get me wrong, it was great! But, I just felt like something was missing…
In February 2020, I found what was missing — a side gig I was passionate about. And so Finch Communications (formerly Kacey Finch Communications Services) was born!
I’ve always loved creating content, and I wanted to turn this passion into a resource for others by serving as a communications service for small businesses.
Over the past 11 months, I have worked with a wide variety of small businesses — an interior design company, a rental service, multiple beauty-related companies. This business has quickly grown from a small side gig to an expanding small business! And I have loved every second of it.
Currently, Finch Communications offers web design, social media and writing services, with more services and products on the horizon. I'm proud of how far this business has come in only 11 months and can't wait to see where it will go in the future.
